Imphal, February 10: The 60th anniversary celebration of Kakhulong Youth Committee had begun today at Kakhulong Kabui Khul Imphal with variety of cultural items.

The diamond jubilee celebration was inaugurated by Works Minister K Ranjit Singh as the chief guest and Agriculture Minister N Loken as the functional president.

Competitions on essay writing, debate, song & music, quiz etc would be the main items of the event that had kicked off with ritual ceremony where floral tributes were paid to all departed souls.

In the inaugural function, four contingents took part in the march past and a souvenir of KYC with the theme "Kakhulong is shining" was released by Loken.

While delivering his speech, Ranjit Singh expressed his concern over the failure of Govt to implement various works in the field of development in the area.

And this, he said, has caused difficulties in the life of people and appealed the villagers to bear with the Government for its weaknesses.
