TRI Manipur invites entries for 1st TFM: National Tribal Film Festival

Imphal, October 08 2025:
The Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Government of Manipur, has invited filmmakers, animators, and storytellers to submit their films for the "1st Tribal Frames Manipur (TFM): National Tribal Film Festival 2025", scheduled to be held from November 8 to 11, 2025 in Imphal.
The TFM 2025 is being held in collaboration with Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, as part of the nationwide celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh.
As per a release issued by TRI, TFM is a noncompetitive festival aimed at bringing tribal filmmakers together, provide visibility, and create a space for dialogue, learning, and cultural exchange.
The festival is open to all filmmakers, animators, and storytellers working on tribal themes.
Films may be in any tribal language, but English subtitles are mandatory.
Both shorts and featurelength films released after January 1, 2020 are eligible for the festival.
Documentaries, fiction, and animation are accepted.
Interested individuals may submit their entry at "[email protected]" with the subject line- "Tribal Frames Manipur" .
The film(s) should be submitted as a screening link (Google Drive/Vimeo/YouTube private link) or digital file (MP4/MOV), along with details of the film such as title, synopsis, filmmaker's Bio, year of production, duration, language of the film, contact details (email/phone).
The last date of submission is October 20, 2025 .
Selected participants will be notified by October 25, 2025 .
