Imphal, Jun 01:
The Mao Students' Union (MSU) condemned condemnation of the Manipur Assembly over Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio visit to Mao area while en route to Khezakeno.
In a statement MSU claimed necessary intimation was made as per protocol of an official visit, adding the reaction is reflection of desperate attempt from the Government of Manipur to sabotage/derail birth right of Nagas to live as one.
The question of provoking the Manipur integrity does not arise since the Nagas do not seek to disturb others' peace nor do they seek to take anything that traditionally and historically belong to others.
The Nagas demand only their legitimate rights and to live with fellow brethren under one banner, the statement maintained.
protest under the pretext of maintaining territorial integrity at the expense of Nagas' unity is unjustifiable, it said.
The statement also expressed its amazement why such a hue and cry has been raised when the Nagaland Chief Minister only expressed wish of the Naga people as he has every right to say in the solidarity and support of the rest of the Naga people.
