Imphal, March 31: One Bh Joseph of Anal Khullen, Chakpikarong who is brother-in-charge of Sacred Heart English School, Yairipok was assaulted by 4/5 unidentified persons yesterday night.

Before that one of the unidentified persons pelted stones at the school building to which brother Joseph came out with three students and asked the miscreants of their motives.

But the assailants produced a gun and assaulted Joesph with a stone as a result of which he fainted .

Consequent upon the attack, Joseph had to undergo two stitches on the head.

Moreover, there were marks of thrashing by some objects like a stick on his forearm.

Clarifying that he has no animosity with any person, Joseph appealed to all concerned not to undertake such assaults again.

Meanwhile, a joint meeting of the teaching and non-teaching staff of Sacred Heart School, Yairipok Laimanai, leaders of social organisations, church leaders and Meira Paibis held today has strongly condemned the assault on boarding master Brother Joseph and stone pelting at the boys' boarding of the school by some unidentified persons yesterday at around 8:30 pm, informed a press release issued by the All Yairipok United Clubs' Organisation.

It further appealed to all concerned not to repeat such activities in future.
