Imphal, December 12: Quoting AR, PIB (Defence Wing) today said that a UNLF cadre was killed by troops of 26 Sector Assam Rifles yesterday in the general area of Molpibung Chakpikarong sub-division in Chandel district.

In a statement, PIB said that the UNLF cadre was killed during an operation launched by the security force following specific information of the presence of the UG cadres in the area.

A fierce gun fight ensued and the UNLF man was killed in the shoot out, added the statement.

One AK-47 rifle, one magazine, 31 rounds of ammunition and incriminating documents were recovered from the site.

The body of the slain cadre was however taken away by their comrades, added the statement.

In another incident, troops of 9 Sector AR arrested one UNLF cadre identified as Ravi Singh from Mayang Langjing are.
