As preventive measure against wrongful entry of datas and check manipulation land records would be compiled through the computer and requisite documents issued to the desirous public in a computerised form.
Informing on the innovative scheme conceived by the Government in consonance with the advancement of computer age, a top official of the Revenue Department said all land records under the jurisdiction of Imphal East SDC office would be computerised and ready for distribution to the public within the ongoing month.
While preparation for the computerised documentation is already in the final stage steps to cover 21 SDO/SDC offices under similar method would be taken up by the NIC through installation of computers and networking systems in these offices, said the source.
Stressing that computerised documentation of land records would curb rooms for human error and record manipulation to a large extent, the Department official, preferring anonymity expressed confidence would enabled offices concerned to process official records smoothly unlike past instances wherein disputes related to land records arise frequently.
With the first phase of the pilot project kicking off from the Porompat SDC office, the source also informed of all the four valley districts as well as Churachandpur to be covered in the second phase.
In connection with the land records computerisation project in the two phase which would also cover all the sub-divisions of the five districts the State Government had submitted a proposal to the Central authorities, it added.
