The 26th State Level Science Exhibition for Children, 2005-06 organised by Education Department (School), Government of Manipur in association with NCERT, New Delhi concluded at Bengali High School here today.
Vice Chancellor of Manipur University Prof Ng Bijoy and Retired Director of Education E Yaima Singh graced the valedictory function as chief guest and president respectively.
The five-day long science exhibition was attended by students reading in class IX to XII and selected from district and zonal level competitions.
Prizes were also distributed to the winners in various categories of the competition held during the five-day long event.
The Best Exhibit award was won by Thangjam Centuria Devi of Nambol Higher Secondary School Zone-IV, Bishnupur for her Multipurpose Charkha, the second Best Exhibit award by Ningombam Priyo Meitei of Johnstone Higher Secondary School, Imphal West Zone-I for his Low Cost Reeling Machine and the third Best Exhibit award by Ahongshangbam Ajoykumar of Lamding High School,.
Thoubal Zone-III for his Modern Charkha.
Merit prizes were also presented to Muhammad Siraj Khan of JNV, Khumbong, Imphal West Zone-I for his exhibit on Low Cost water pump; Irom Dhanaranjana Devi of Paradise English School, Thoubal Zone-III for her Portable Multi fuel Chullah; Naorem Ibosana Singh of Kakching Higher Secondary School, Thoubal, Kakching circle for his Low Cost Electro Cardiography; M Rony Devi of Don Bosco High School, Churachandpur for her Multiple Smokeless Chullah; Lairenlakpam Kishun Meitei of JNV, Khumbong, Imphal West Zone-I for his Line Paddy/seeds sower, Konthoujam Chitaranjan Singh of Lilong Higher Secondary School, Imphal West, Wangoi circle for his Audio signal common balance; Naorem Prafullo Singh of Kakching Higher Secondary School, Thoubal, Kakching circle for his Multipurpose Alarm system and L Suranjoy Singh of Nambol Higher Secondary School, Zone-IV, Bishnupur for his Paddy Field Weeder.
