Imphal, January 23:
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has categorically stated that all the schools in the State should start teaching and prescribing books written in Meitei Mayek instead of Bengali script from the current academic session, 2006.In accordance to the wishes of the people and interest of the Manipuri community, the State Government had already issued an order in this regard, assistant secretary general of DESAM LC Santosh reminded in a statement.
The statement also warned that strict and fitting action would be taken up against the authorities of the school concerned if the event of violating the said order.
