Expressing that the general public are yet to recuperate from the economic blockade imposed by the ANSAM and the more recent agitation launched by teachers having adverse affect upon the student community National Students Union of India, Manipur fervently appealed to the All Manipur Muslim Students Organisation to drop its proposed general strike.
Observing that any form of agitation has direct repercussion upon the general public especially the daily wage earners state unit of the NSUI desired that the Muslim student body have faith on legal system of the country to put forth and contest any issue.
Sharing its views on negative effect of bandhs/strikes to the commoners, NSUI said scheduling agitation dates through the media has become a common phenomenon for aggrieved parties who hardly takes into account disruption of normal activity would cause economic problem to the deprived section of the society.
It is rather unfortunate that bodies these days rely more on disruptive method to make their points heard rather than pursue their agenda through legal aid in relevant court as enshrined in the Constitution of the country, observed the student body.
