Imphal, November 29:
The killing of a non-local at Wangbal agricultural field under Thoubal police station yesterday by severing his private part is suspected to have been induced by illicit affair.
The deceased identified as Ganesh Rai (35) of Muzzafarpur district, Bihar was a mason and was staying at Nagamapal Soram Leirak.
Even though he was a married man having children, Ganesh reportedly had an illicit affair with a Muslim woman working under him as a labourer.
At about 4.30 pm of November 26, a Muslim man who was said to be acquainted with the deceased took Ganesh Rai along with him on the pretext of seeing a site where a big house of an MLA should be built.
The man reportedly told Ganesh to go home on the next morning.
However, on the next day when Ganesh's relatives went to the home of the man at Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai, nobody was found there.
The corpse of Ganesh Rai has been handed over to family members after post mortem at Lilong PHC today.
