Imphal, October 28: After 20 shops and office of the Manipur Film Development Corporation was razed to the ground by a devastating fire that broke out at Puleiromba market, Palace Gate last night, another fire accident partially destroyed a godown at Hatta Golapati today.

Even as the fire put under control by the collective effort of local people and Manipur Fire Service, goods worth Rs 2 lakhs were destroyed by the blaze.

The fire that broke out on the second floor of Islamic Library building located at Hatta Golapati at about 9 am today is believed to have originated from a candle.

On the other hand, it is estimated that properties worth several lakhs of rupees were destroyed by yesterday's inferno at Puleiromba market.

However the exact cause of the devastating fire could be ascertained as yet.
