The Manipur Legislature (Removal of Disqualification) Fourth Amendment Bill, 2006 which is aimed to save the 6 Congress MLAs from being disqualified over the Office of Profit issue was tabled in the Assembly today.
The Bill was tabled by Chief Minister in charge, Th Debendra and it will be discussed on May 29 for its implementation.
The six MLAs who are reported to be holding offices of profit include N Biren, K Ranjit, Bijoy Koijam, N Loken, Y Mani and Family Welfare Minister DK Korungthang.
The Bill was worked out following the submissions made by the BJP to the Election Commission of India to disqualify 6 MLAs over the OoP issue.
