Imphal, September 25: Assam Rifles personnel arrested one Leishangthem Bimol Singh alias Puwangba (34) s/o (L) L Khomei of Khongampat Mayai Leikai, said a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) Col Pant.

On interrogation, the individual confessed that he is SS Lt of PLA with Army No 123 and the Med Officer in charge of the outfit and has been working with the outfit since 1993.One 9mm Pistol (Regd No 1051/China make) with a magazine and four live rounds have been recovered from the apprehendee.

Informing that the weapon was strapped to his leg to avoid detection, the PRO release also conveyed that the apprehendee alongwith recovered items has been handed over to Tengnoupal Police Station today.
