Imphal, December 24:
All Tribal Lawyers' Association, Manipur has urged the Govt for appointing a tribal candidate against the reserved (ST) quota to the post of Additional Govt advocate (High Court) in accordance to the advertisement bearing no.7/31/2003-GA/L (Pt) dated 24-9-2005 issued by the Secretary/Dy Secretary (Law), Government of Manipur.
In a reminder submitted to the Chief Minister, Association president KC Guite and secretary Ramuel Risom pointed out that as per the said advertisement got filling up for 3 posts of Additional Govt Advocates on contract basis, two are for General Candidates and one for ST candidate.
Accordingly many candidates applied for the posts.
But the Govt had already issued 2 appointment orders on June 9, 2006 appointing two General candidates as per the said advertisement.
But surprisingly, the Govt did not issue any appointment order against the ST reserved post as advertised, though sufficient/qualified tribal candidates are available for the post, the statement said charging the Govt with anti-tribal attitude.
