Teacher prohibited from assuming HM in-charge

Imphal, May 21: After retirement of the regular Headmaster of the Heibongpokpi Jr H/S under Lamsang A/C, another teacher who attempted to take charge of Headmaster in-charge was prohibited from doing so by students, Meira Paibis and local club volunteers today.

The students, Meira Paibis and local club volunteers staged a protest sitting at the school gate at about 10:30 am and prohibited Kh Satyabati not only from assuming the charge of Headmaster but also from entering the college.

Chairman of the village education committee Pari Khuman informed that as per resolution of a meeting held with all the teachers, it was agreed that the senior most teaching staff Kh Memcha should be made Headmaster in-charge.

However, an impasse crept up following claim by Satyabati that she should by Headmaster in-charge.

The protesters demanded that Satyabati should be transferred away from the school and regular Headmaster should be appointed soon.
