Two days ahead of next round of peace parleys between the Centre and NSCN (I-M) at Amsterdam to find a solution to the Naga political problem, the outfit today described the proposed talks as �crucial� for the future of the Nagas.
�The talks are expected to focus upon substantive issues that would be crucial for the future of the Nagas as well as our relationship with India,� NSCN (I-M) �Kilonser� (minister) for Information and Publicity, Jhoney Dil-bung said in a statement received here.
Stressing the need for an �early and honourable� settlement of the protracted problem, the Naga outfit said �if more than half a century of loss due to the conflict for both parties cannot be an eye opener, and diplomacy replaces it, then there looms graver darkness in the horizon.� Insisting that Government of India should avoid �dishonest policies� and �respectfully undertake the right step� for ending the long drawn conflict, the NSCN (I-M) urged Nagas to join hands in contributing towards the on-going peace process.
Dilbung said senior NSCN (I-M) functionaries from Nagaland led by the emissary to the outfit�s collective leadership, VS Atem, had left for the Netherlands capital Amsterdam to participate in the talks on May 19 and 20.The Naga leaders, who would join NSCN (I-M) Chairman Issac Chishi Swu and General Secretary Th.
