The Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) in its General Body meeting resolved to suspend the ongoing cease work strike keeping in view of the various requests of students, social organizations, people and the state government.
But it will continue its hunger strike at the gate of Johnstone Higher Secondary School from tomorrow.
The meeting today resolved to suspend the ongoing cease work strike until January 4 next year on which the next talk between the state government and the striking teachers is scheduled.
For the time being, half of the teachers from every school will participate in the hunger strike while the other half will continue their duties in the schools.
The hunger strike will be continued for zone wise from December 23 onwards.
Meanwhile, the Manipur State Pensioners' Union in a press release appealed the state government to bring an amicable solution with the striking teachers of COTA to provide the students of the state uninterrupted study.
