Imphal, June 15: The editor and staff of Naharolgi Thoudang has felicitated Michael who secured third position in this year's High School Leaving Certificate examination during a function held at the office of the daily here this afternoon.

The function was attended by New Editor of ISTV K Madhumangol and editor of Naharolgi Thoudang Kh Loyalakpa as chief guest and president respectively.

Speaking at the occasion, L Ibomcha, the local guardian of Michael appealed to all founders and principals of private schools not to misuse the name of Michael in spreading false rumour that he has been admitted to their schools and commercialise education.

Michael has broken the myth that a student cannot pass in the examination without tuition, Ibomcha said, adding that he would like to see the same spirit in all the students.

Loyalakpa said Michael is being felicitated by the Naharolgi Thoudang to encourage him to work hard for more success in his future life and continue to be a source of inspiration for other students.

Apart from presenting a sum of Rs 10,000 as reward to Michael from the side of the daily newspaper, News Editor of ISTV Madhumangol also presented a gift hamper to the student topper at the occasion.
