Governor Dr SS Sidhu, Chief Minister O Ibobi, Lok Sabha MP Dr T Meinya and MPCC president Gaikhangam has extended warm greetings on the twin occasion of Cheiraoba and Good Friday.
Dr Sidhu in his message expressed wish that the new year would bring peace and prosperity for people of Manipur while observing that it's time for introspection.
He further called upon the people to rededicate ourselves to the noble ideals of peace, harmony and brotherhood as was symbolised by Lord Jesus on the auspicious occasion of Good Friday.
The Governor extended wish for Easter too.
The celebration of Good Friday and resurrection of Lord Jesus symbolizes the victory of good over evil, said Chief Minister O Ibobi in his greeting on the eve of Good Friday and Easter.
Ibobi also prayed that this year's Cheiraoba may bring peace, harmony and prosperity for all the peoples of Manipur.
Expressing his warm greetings on the twin occasion of Good Friday and Cheiraoba, Lok Sabha MP Dr T Meinya wished that love and progress may reign in all of Manipur.
Let these occasions of Cheiraoba and Good Friday tighten the bond of love and understanding among the people of hills and valley of Manipur, prayed MPCC president Gaikhangam in his message.
Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Dr Manirudin Shaikh has also greeted the people of Manipur on the eve of Cheiraoba and Good Friday.
GOC 57 Mountain Division Maj Gen EJ Kochekkan and IG AR (S) Maj Gen BS Ghotra have also conveyed their Cheiraoba greetings with the hope that the new year may herald an era of peace and prosperity in the State, said PIB (DW) release.
