Zeliangrong Boudi upholds UNC decision

Imphal, December 08 2010: As directed by UNC, Zeliangrong Boudi, Manipur, ZB (M) have decided to uphold the decision of Naga people for severance of political ties with the Government of Manipur with effect from July 1, 2010, according to a statement issued by its publicity wing.

In pursuant to this declaration, ZB (M) cannot welcome the Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers as well as MLAs to grace the Orange festival to be held at Tamenglong from December 10 to 12, the statement said, adding that 'we have apprehension that their coming will surely disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the people in the district'.

However, we encourage the spirit of festival and to make Tamenglong district the hub of Orange production in the North Eastern region.
