Imphal, May 08: Against the complaint of one Laishram Komla (62) that he was physically assaulted by former VC of MU Prof Ng Bijoy, the Meira Paibis of Kongpal Chingabam Leikai, Ningthoubung Leikai, Kongpal Sajor Leikai and Kongpal Laishram Leikai has resolved not to entertain any more complaints from Komla against Prof Bijoy.

The resolution to this effect was adopted following the statement of one Yumkhaibam Tomba (80) of Chingabam Leikai who was reportedly with Komla at the time of the alleged assault.

During a press conference today at Netaji Memorial Club at Tinsid Road in presence of the Meira Paibis, Tomba stated that there was no such case of assault by Bijoy.

Moreover, Komla failed to turn up at the press meet.

At the time of the alleged assault, Komla was in the company of Naorem Lukhoi (60) of Sajor Leikai, Moirangthem Thomba of Chingakham Leikai in addition to himself, clarified Tomba.

On their way back from Lamlong, they met Prof Bijoy but there was no physical assault, he added.

One Lukram Ngoubi who reportedly witnessed Komla and Bijoy talking, said that she did not observe any sign of tussle or quarrel between the two.
