Imphal, August 07:
Setting its record straight on the letter sent by Under Secretary Health in connection with the recent MBBS/BDS entrance examination for selection of State nominees, the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur has categorically stated that it has nothing to say after the conduct of the entrance test.
Addressing a press conference at his office chamber today, Secretary of the Council Dr N Kunjabihari informed that the Council received a letter from the Under Secretary Health at around 5 pm on July 25 for convening a meeting of the subject experts within July 27 in connection with the MBBS/BDS entrance test.
As there is difficulty in convening a meeting of the subject experts within such a short notice, the list of the subject experts was forwarded to the Under Secretary on July 29, he said, adding that it is the responsibility of the Under Secretary Health to convene the meeting of the subject experts or not.
He further clarified that ahead of the conduct of the MBBS/BDS entrance examination, the Council had not received any instruction from the Health Department for providing the subject experts and moderators nor any request for the current syllabus of the Council.
The syllabus being followed by the Council currently was prepared in 2005 and the one prepared in 1997 is no more in force, he said, adding 'so the Council has nothing to say from its part in connection with the conduct of the MBBS/BDS entrance test after it has already been over.
