Imphal, April 01: Along with having made all the necessary preparations for organising the Miss Manipur, 2006-07 contest smoothly with the underlying motive of promoting peaceful co-existence and harmony among the people, the representatives of the Miss Manipur Committee and the participants jointly met the media today ahead of the grand finale to be held on April 7.Interacting with the mediapersons at the office of the Panthoibi Films Institute at Paona Bazar ahead of the grand finale, presi dent of Miss Manipur Committee Y Ibohanbi informed said apart from the plan for organising the event every year, the Committee would help in shaping the future careers of the participants from this time.

The Committee has also decided to appoint a representative of the Government as its chairperson and the Rules and Regulations (RR) of the contest has also been laid down, he said.

According to the RR, the first three winners of any beauty contest would be allow to participate in the Miss Manipur contest without screening, Ibohalbi disclosed.

The winner of the Miss Manipur 2006-07 can take home a cash prize of Rs 30,000 while the first and second runners up would be awarded Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

The third and fourth runners up would also be given Rs 2000 each along with certificates.

The winners of the six sub-titles and the best designer of the contest would also received an amount of Rs 5000 each as prizes.

Kicking off the preliminary rounds of the contest, the participants would conduct a social service at Nupi Lal Memorial complex here tomorrow.

The contest for the sub-titles would be held on April 3 at Khuman Lampak Swimming Pool and Kids' World.
