Imphal, June 14: Strongly refuting PREPAK's claim of killing fourteen army/Assam Rifles personnel in a series of successful strikes at Serou, Sajik Tampak and its adjoining areas, PIB (Defence wing) have clarified that no army/Assam Rifles personnel were killed and no headquarters of the army have been attacked by any of the militant groups.

PIB further termed the propaganda as malicious, irrational, totally uncorroborated and done with the intention of misleading the people of the State.

It however said that security forces had carried out a search operation against suspected underground movement in the western part of Serou village resulting in a minor exchange of fire with a small group of militants.

The militant however managed to escape taking advantage of the hilly terrain.
