Imphal, February 13:
Even as the rationalisation policy of schools teachers by transferring teachers from those schools which have less students to schools which have more students has been just implemented, allegation have been raised of the manner in which the policy is being implemented besides interference from various quarters.
Just a few days after the report of due pressure given on the Minister con- cerned by other Ministerial colleagues and Government officials in carrying out the mass transfer order of teachers, local clubs and organisations have also fall into the line lobbying for not transferring certain teachers.
The Chairman of the Programme Implementation Committee and local MLA Y Mani was flooded with memoranda demanding to stay the transfer order of headmaster of Naorem Chakprou Government Primary School during function today to inaugurate the newly constructed Kitchen of the school, toilet complex, school veranda and Pucca fencing.
The memoranda were submitted by Youth Sporting Club Naorem Chakprou; All India Youth Federation, Wangoi Local Council; Yaipha Lamjing Chanura Marup, Naorem Chakprou; All Manipur Nupi Marup, Wangoi Area Naorem Chakprou among other organisations.
It is said that the headmaster identified M Gourakishore has expended the amount for construction of the Kitchen, toilet complex, School veranda and fencing from his own pocket.
The memorandum contended that if the meaning of rationalising teachers mean posting adequate teachers to those schools which have less students, then the said primary school where around 200 students are studying is also encountering the problem of lack of adequate teachers.
In such a situation, transferring the headmaster would negate the meaning of the rationalisation policy, the memoranda asserted.
