Imphal, March 01: On the Verge, a popular teenage rock band of Manipur has bagged second best band and best vocalist titles at the recent All India Rock Competition held at IIT, Banaras Hindu University.

In the competition held on February 26 and 27, a Mumbai based band, After Test got the best band title with a cash award of Rs 20,000 while the Manipur rockers On the Verge secured the second best band award carrying a cash prize of Rs 15,000, said Elangbam Kumar (Jazy), the drummer of On the Verge.

Sensational Naga Soprano Alvina Gonson who is the lead vocalist of On the Verge also bagged the best vocalist award in the competition participated by over ten rock groups from different parts of the country.

Alvina received an acoustic guitar (Fender) as her prize, Elangbam Kumar (Jazy), Kumar informed, adding that they presented six songs including two self composed numbers in the competition.
