Dimapur, September 15 (NNN): One of the ganja smugglers who was arrested by Nagaland police in Dimapur has turned out to be a top NSCN-IM leader.

Reports said that Pungti Jobson is a deputy secretary of Defence, NSCN-IM.

On hearing the news NSCN-IM home minister Rh Raising assured that appropriate punishment would be awarded to the NSCN-IM official.

Another top leader of the NSCN-IM said that the NSCN-IM has been on the alert against all smuggling and illegal activities in Nagalim �but if our own people are carrying out such activities then the punishment will be extreme.� Mention may be made that Nagaland police seized fourteen thousand kgs of contraband ganja from two trucks (NL-010-5416 and AS-25-7257) which were coming from Manipur at 7th Mile, Dimapur, in the wee hours of Wednesday and arrested four persons in this connection.

The international market value of the consignment is reportedly Rs.4.2 crore.
