The owner of the house is identified as Huidrom Amubi (75) of Nongam Awang Leikai.
The Kitchen and the cowshed which also housed a Chicken coop were located just next to the northern wall of the house.
Amubi speculated that the fire may have been ignited from the fire made by his wife to fumigate the cowshed.
Amubi informed that he came out of the house on hearing the loud noises of the cows only to find that the leaping flame of the fire had engulfed the Kitchen and the cowshed.
There were in all 6 cows in the shed.
Two of them managed to break free of the noose and he set free two others, but two others have already been roasted alive.
Apart from other properties kept in the cowshed, 30 Chickens kept in a coop inside the shed have also been roasted alive in the fire, Amubi said, while estimating the total loss in the fire to around Rs 60,000.Amubi said he could not contact the fire brigade in time due to lack of communication facility.
