In continuation of the one day seminar organised jointly by the Advanced Research Consortium and MURC on September 15 on the theme, "Need for a New Direction of Education System of Manipur in the Advent of India's Look East Policy", a panel discussion was held today at guest house, Manipur University.
The panel discussion recommended development of manpower in service sector and noted need for establishment of Tourism and Hospitality Management Institute.
It recommended for establishment of an institute of South East Asian Studies and a school of Foreign Languages in MU.
Other recommendations of the panel discussion included establishment of institutes of national and global importance like IITs, IIMs etc, promotion of student exchange programmes on fellowships, establishment of an institute on Foreign Trade and to strengthen the existing infrastructure in health care and paramedical institutes and to develop the required manpower.
