The first Kuki Baptist Convention (KBC) Praise and Worship Conference was held under the supervision of KBC Youth Department from May 18 to 21 at Centre Church United Sapormeina, Sadar Hills.
The theme of the conference attended by a large number of delegates from different parishes of the State was 'Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks' (John 4:23).In his address, MBC youth secretary Rev Stephen Touthang who attended the conference as one of the resource persons encouraged the delegates to contribute their mite in making the Church grow spiritually through contemporary praise and worship services.
The resource person also presented a seminar papers on 'Basics in contemporary worship' and 'Leading worship'.
Mrs Connie Leivon, a professional singer who also attended the conference as one of the resource persons, educated the delegates on controlling their vocal while singing and said that to become a good singer light physical exercise is also needed.
The praise and worship team of the conference led by Evan Dousei made the event a grand success.
Misao translated the Gospel English chorus songs into Thadou-Kuki dialect as well as composed some songs.
The conference was followed by a live worship concert during which top Kuki Gospel artists like Elvis Nehlal, Jeff Akai, Seiboi Tuboi, Hechin Haokip, Esther Sitlhou, etc presented their soul stirring numbers.
As part of the conference, the delegates under the leadership of Rev Stephen Touthang took out a peace rally in the heart of Sapormeina giving a clarion call to underground outfits to cease from indulging in factional fights and let the people live in peace and harmony.
