Jiribam, January 16: Three vehicle lifters were nabbed by Assam Police at Jirighat Police Check Post, Cachar, Assam at around 7 am today and recovered a stolen car from their possession.

The three vehicle lifters identified as Jamal Uddin Talukdar (25) s/o Anjir Ali Talukdar of Katigorah, Wahid Ali alias Raju (25) s/o Md Abdul Kurdas of Gumrah and Mani Singh (52) s/o late Yaima Singh of Chingmeirong, Imphal were stopped by the police when they were heading towards Jiribam in their stolen car.

During interrogation, it was revealed that the car belongs to Saleha Begum w/o Abdul Khan of Banga Bazar, Karimganj district, Assam.

They have also confessed that they have stolen many vehicles earlier which were transported to Manipur, All three of them are in police custody now.
