The local body election which is to be held on January 3 next year is a very important election.
It will tell something about the upcoming general election of the state assembly which falls on 2012, said MPCC President, Gaikhangam today in a public meeting held at Sekmai Community Hall in relation with the upcoming local body election and the 125th birth anniversary of the AICC.
Speaking in the occasion, Gaikhangam said that the election of Autonomous District Council was held this year around two decades after the act was imposed in the state.
He said that Congress will sweep the local body election like in the ADC election in the hills.
People in the state trust Congress and give their support to the party as a result of the sincerity of the party.
He said that Congress is an old and sincere party.
People of the state should think what will happen if they are led by a blind man before giving their votes.
They should exercise their right to choose the candidates.
He said that India and Congress are inseparable.
He also expressed his pleasure on the victory of Congress on seven seats out of nine Nagar Panchayat in Sekmai area.
Later, Gaikhangam interacted with the seven councilors who won the seven seats uncontested.
MPCC Vice President, E Dwijamani, MPCC General Secretary, Senjam Bidyapati, Secretary Tilotama, MLA Suraj and Works Minister K Ranjit also attended the public meeting.
