Imphal, April 15: Certificates to all the participants of the Mega Marathon, Manipur, 2007 organised by United People's Front (UPF), Manipur under the theme of 'Run for Your Motherland' on March 25 last has been distributed during a function at GP Women's College today.

Around 1000 people participated in the Mega Marahon which was flagged off from Kangla and concluded at Kangla again after covering a distance of 21 kilometres.

Editor of Ekhoigee Panthung S Hemanta, member of Manipur Human Rights Commission Ng Nongyai and president of United People's Font Th Mangi were presidium members of the function.

Speaking at the occasion, Mangi said the Mega Marathon has reaffirmed that fact that there are many people in Manipur who are ready to sweat out for their motherland.

Participants from young age to old and women made the event a grand success, he added.

While expressing the commitment of UPF to organise the bigger event in the coming years, Mangi appealed to the people to continue to extend their support and co-operation to UPF.
