As Hmar Women Association declares the sixteenth of January as a 'day of sorrow' and planned a series of agitation, the Zomi Human Rights Foundation today share its profound sorrows and grief at the continuing injustice meted out to the poor victims of Rape at Lungthulien and Parbung.
'The rights and dignities of innocents were plundered by criminals masquerading as revolutionaries; and even after many eye-washing exercises, justice was not done to those victims till date' it alleged.
In addition to questioning the sincerity of the state government and other authorities who have the power to redress the issue, ZHRF towed an identical line of the HWA by demanding the concern authorities for making the Rajkhowa Commission's report public, immediately.
The foundation also claimed that the responses till date, of the government, other NGOs and the concerned organization reflect the real attitude, 'the true standing and position of the tribal people in the State of Manipur'.
On its declared 'day of sorrow' Hmar Women Association is all set to stage a sit-in-protest and starve themselves at Rengkai Road, Old Bazar here tomorrow along with hoards of its sister organisations.
A part of the busy thoroughfare, extending from Police Station to Nehru Marg junction of the road has been set aside for the agitation, an informed sources said today.
