Lamka, Aug 14:
Organisers of the mass empty pot rally on August 11 in an open letter to the Deputy Commissioner have questioned some of the remarks he allegedly made on the day and maintained that they shall be constrained to judge whether he has any concern for the rights of the citizens, if its posers are not responded within a week.
On the day of the rally AK Sinha alleged that various public leaders whom he had met with, meekly surrendered to 'forces' which he claimed every one knows and the very reason why the rallyists cannot meet him in his office was a proof of the problem.
He went on and said that 'as an officer what can I do about it.
If you are helpless, we are also helpless.' To these remarks of the deputy commissioner, an open letter signed by the rally convener and five other co-conveners claimed that they did not know the forces who siphoned off the PDS items.
Instead it asked who had not delivered the PDS items: 'the some body or you or both?' and states, 'Your honour being the District Administrator knew the some body else.
Because, without your consent and issuance of utilization certificate on lifted PDS items no indent and issuance of subsequent supply would have been possible.' The letter also wonder if the DC ever discuss and sought help from MLAs and Ministers even as it drop the question, 'do you mean that all public leaders of churachandpur you met during the last 4-5 months have meekly surrendered to the some body else well known to you?' The letter also inquire, if it was true that he demanded Re.
1 per litre from K Oil dealers and acted as Commission Collector for 'some body else' and 'people in power'in the district and had accordingly deduct cash from DRDA funds, relief and rehabilitation funds and Khuga Dam compensation.
It may be noted that the route for empty pot rally was altered after Kuki National Army, on the dictates of politicians who were petrified by the notion that such rally can hampered their dream to exploit the masses afresh, warn the rallyist not to venture in their areas.
