Imphal, June 14:
With KS Paul Leo adamant not to withdraw his resignation letter, the United Naga Council (UNC) in its emergency assembly today accepted its president's resignation.
The assembly in its sitting in Imphal today resolved that UNC speaker Samson Remmei "will lead" the UNC executives until a new president is elected.
Today's UNC emergency assembly sitting was participated by Naga tribes' presidents, federating units and the constituent bodies of the Naga body besides the UNC leaders.
Last month KS Paul Leo had tendered his resignation and subsequently UNC speaker Samson Remmei had convened its meeting where the UNC leaders refused to accept Paul Leo's resignation.
