An employee of Manipur Secretariat who worked for PREPAK and three KCP activists have been apprehended by police commandos of Imphal West and East districts from different locations on December 7 and 8 .
According to a statement issued by SSP (IW), the PREPAK activist namely Abujam Bishorjit Singh (35) s/o (L) A Manihar of Shamurou Awang Leikai was arrested from near RIMS Gate at around 7.30 am today.
A peon in Manipur Secretariat, Bishorjit reportedly revealed of joining the PREPAK organisation in March this year through one nganba alias Nongdamba and was involved in extortion of money from RIMS doctors, Govt Employees and general public.
One identity card, list of three doctors, two receive books with details of amount he had extorted in the name of PREPAK, one CD disc and a mobile phone handset were listed as items recovered from Bishorjit.
The three KCP (MC) activists were rounded up from near kusum oil Pump on December 6 evening by a team of Imphal East police commandos, said a statement issued by SP (IE) .
identifying the trio as Laishram Diren Singh (27) s/o L Shyambondu of Khangabok Bazar Pt-III, Salam Geeta Devi (30) d/o (L) S Nongthomba Singh of Laphupat Tera Khunou and Md Abdul Wahid Khan alias Awas (20) s/o (L) Md Abdul Khalique of Kwakta Tera Khong WN-II .
Apart from disclosing of being active members of KCP-MC (Malem Nganba Meetei) group they revealed of involvement in extortion of money from the general public, Govt officials, businessmen, etc.
under the commando of Nando of Khangabok Pt-III, the SP release added.
