Imphal, June 07:
A faction of the KCP has strongly condemned the execution of eight cadres of the outfit including its vice president by the KCP led by Noyon alias Laba on March 5 this year.
In a statement the faction said that the allegations raised by Noyon that the Leibakmacha, the slain vice president and his men were involved in getting him (Noyon) arrested on the way to Moreh is October last year was totally false and baseless.
The other allegations that Leibakmacha was instrumental in getting Tombi alias Herachandra alias Inaoton and Mithai alias Kanbabu killed by the 24 Assam Rifles was also totally wrong, said the faction.
Questioning the execution of the 8 cadres, the faction questioned why the proceedings of the court martial have not been made public and why the bodies were not handed over to the family members.
The eight were killed in separate incidents, asserted the statement and accused the KCP of trying to mislead the people.
In 2003 the group led by Noyon and the other led by Leibakmacha arrived at Sajik to discuss the means and ways to reunite, said the statement and added that Noyon and his group started hatching conspiracies to eliminate Leibakmacha and his key men.
Captain Tombi of the outfit was given the order to kill Leibakmacha and his men, alleged the statement and that PREPAK members informed Leibakmacha that an ambush was laid somewhere at Nungkam on the Indo-Myanmar border.
Leibakmacha and his men thus escaped the ambush.
Then again during the conclave held at Bangladesh to discuss the unity of the group at the initiative of UNLF, PREPAK and KYKL, conspiracies were hatched to eliminate Leibakmacha and his men, asserted the statement.
The faction further said that fitting tributes have been paid to the eight departed cadres of the outfit and added that the execution of the 8 cadres will pose a hurdle to any attempt to unify in the future.
All this is the handiwork of Noyon.
The statement added that the financial transactions of the outfit will be carried out under the signature of its finance secretary, Lakpa.
