Keishamthong Block Congress Committee has come out strongly against the last night�s incident the firing attack by unidentified persons at the Keishamthong Moirang Ningthou Leirak residence of Tayenjam Brajabidhu, who is a worker of Langpoklakpam Jayentakumar Singh, Congress candidate in the upcoming Assembly election from Keishamthong AC.
The unidentified persons not only created fear and panic among the local people but also intimidated some other Congress workers against campaigning for Jayentakumar, president of Keishamthong Block Congress Committee S Ibochou while talking to mediapersons in connection with last night�s incident at the Pishumthong Oinam Leikai residence of Jayentakumar today.
Ibochou alleged that unidentified persons came to the houses of the Congress workers living in Keishamthong Moirangpurel, Leirak, Leimajam Leikai, Haobam Marak, Takhel Leikai and Moirangpurel Leirak and threaten them against campaigning for Congress candidate, and if at all they want to campaign for the election it should be for the MPP candidate.
Such intimidation is against the democratic norm of holding free and fair election and should be condemned by all the people, he said, while urging all concerned to give an explanation in connection with the last night�s incident.
According to another report, women Congress workers from Keishamthong AC who came out to welcome the visit of Sonia Gandhi yesterday were allegedly threaten by unidentified persons after coming to their respective houses at night.
Women Congress workers have appealed to all concerned to ensure such incident do not recur.
