Imphal, June 03: Bunglon village in Churachandpur district would be celebrating its golden jubilee on June 7.Agriculture Minister P Parijat Singh, Divisional Forest Officer of Churachandpur HD Gangte and former Lok Sabha MP Kim Gangte would attend the historic occasion as chief guest, functional president and guest of honour respectively.

Bunglon village is an upcoming model village inhabited by the colourful Gangte tribe.

It was founded by late Suktung Thangkhopau Gangte in 1957.The village came alive with full force in October 2006 when President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam set his foot and mingled with the locals for more than an hour.
