The Chairman of the Institute of Co-operative Management, Lamphelpat has been accused of ill-treating the women staff of National Co-operative Union of India and Women Co-operative Education Project.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, project in-charge of Women Co-operative Education Project, Imphal East and Imphal West, Jayshree alleged that the Chairman came to the room where the women staff were sitting today at around 2:30 pm and started abusing them using bawdy and harsh words.
The chairman said that establishment of self help groups is a business of thieves, conveyed Jayshree.
Mentioning that the Women Co-operative Education Project has been attached to the ICM building since July 31, 2000, she alleged that the Chairman declared that they could expelled any time.
Disclosing that he don't like works of children and women, the chairman used strong and indecent words against the women staff to which all the women staff cried, informed Jayshree.
Noting that the number of staff of the Women Co-operative Education Project is just six including herself, she expressed strong condemnation and resentment against the conduct of the new chairman.
It may be mentioned here that altogether 309 self help groups have been established in Imphal West and Imphal East.
