Lamka, Jun 01:
The last set of patients at district hospital here left their bed by daybreak as nurses too join the state wide JAC strike today.
All wards in the hospital which were normally crowded was closed and doctors and nurses were no where to be seen.
So were the patients and nurse trainees.
As nurses joined the strike, it's the ailing poor but needy people that suffer the most.
Expensive private clinics and hospices are now reportedly congested.
No other hospital in the district is quipped to perform even the simplest operation and the closure of the district hospital has put the entire population on the threshhold of any eventualities likely to unfold.
