Imphal, March 31: Following an understanding reached at the Lilong police station yesterday morning the indefinite cessation of service by passenger bus carriers of three transport bodies have been called off with immediate effect, said a joint release of Indo-Burma-Sugnu Road Drivers Assn, South Eastern Transport Cooperative Society and Indo-Burma-Sugnu Road Bus Owners' Welfare Assn.

The understanding was arrived at during a meeting attended by Lilong kendra MLA Hellaluddin Khan, SDPO Thoubal, Officer-in-Charge of Lilong Police station & representatives of the three transport bodies.

The transporters had threatened to launch the agitation to protest man-handling of an ImphalHeirok route bus driver on March 29 evening at Lilong area.
