The Heingang Kendra Sporting Union has deplored the biased decision taken by the referee in the quarter final match of the 60th Santosh Trophy between Goa and Manipur saying that it was conspired to humble Manipuri players as well as the people of Manipur, said a press note issued by the Union adding that the Union is proud of the skilled Manipuri players.
The All Manipur Muslims Organisations Co-ordinating Committee has strongly condemned the recommendation to take disciplinary action against four Manipuri players rather than reprimanding the biased and incompetent referee, said a statement by the Committee.
To protest against the unfair and partial attitude of the officials, the Young Union Club, Kairang Mamang Leikai, held a general body meeting and resolved to support AMFA in all its endeavours to blacklist the referee and to bring justice to the often subjugated team of Manipur.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal, Manipur has deplored the unethical conduct of the referee saying that the incident was unprecedented in the sporting history.
In a statement, RJD Manipur remarked that flouting of accepted norms by the referee and indifference to the wrongdoing by AIFF would be a great blow to this game and its prospects particularly to Manipur where it is hugely popular.
The Southern Sporting Union (SSU), Singjamei, in its executive committee meeting today, has resolved to hold a public protest tomorrow at Singjamei Bazar against the unfair and communal minded conduct by the match referee.
The North Imphal United Clubs and Meirapaibees Organisation (NIUCAMO) observed that the unprecedented incident of the quarter final match was a sweet victory for the Manipuri players as they had de-masked the subjugative nature of the organisers in full view of the whole world while adding that a grand reception awaits the players along with presentation of mementos.
