The training programme on �Scientific Pig rearing for better economy� which was inaugurated on December 14 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Leitan Pokpham, Andro concluded today Central Agricultural University (CAU), Iroisemba.
The theory part of the training programme was held at KVK and the practical at CAU.
The valedictory function held at CAU was attended by Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr SN Puri as chief guest and Dean of College of Agriculture Dr N Iboton as president.
The chief guest also distributed certificates to the trainees.
In his address, Dr SN Puri informed that although CAU and Andro are located far from each other, efforts are being made to keep video conferencing facilities at KVK, Andro to fac litate communication and interaction between the Pig rearers and the officials of CAU on daily basis.
He further said that efforts would also be made to standardise the medical plants being fed to the Pigs by the people of Andro.
Stressing on the need to organise similar training programmes at Andro, he assured that the better breed of Piglets developed by CAU would be made available to the people of Andro at an cheaper rate.
