Imphal, October 03:
Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Sadar Hills has strongly condemned the alleged victimisation of the people of Wakan village and burning down three houses on the charge of harbouring militants by the State police forces on October 1.In a statement, information and puvlicity secretary of the students'body Paoneilal Khongsai asserted there is no gain of truth in the wild allegation levelled against the vilagers by the State security forces.
Setting the record straight, Paoneilal countered why should the KNA cadres have to open camp of all the places at Wakan village, when there are so many jungles and strategic places available in the hill areas.
It is a undeniable fact that the UG cadres come and go around every villages (not only Wakan) occasionally.
Yet there is noone who could stop them from doing so, because the people of Manipur are trapped between the devils and the deep sea, he said.
The State police forces should understand that Wakan vilagers are also citizens of India instead of victimising the innocents on the pretext of counter insurgency operation.
To show their bravery, the police personnel could go to the jungles and fight the UGs who are waiting out there.
If torching down three houses could help in furthering their career/promotion in any way, KSO can construct hundred more such makeshift houses, Paoneilal said.
