The NSCN (K) has categorically rejected charges levelled by the IM group of K cadres harassing inhabitants of Ireng village where an encounter was reported yesterday.
Speaking to newspersons at an Imphal East district area today, NSCN (K)�s Zeliangrong Region spokesman Felix referring to the news report maintained that IM cadres resorted to indiscriminate firing for cook up stories.
Refuting the IM claim on the encounter and casualties inflicted upon K group, Felix said weapons and communication gadgets exhibited by the IM cadres belong to the same outfit (IM) as the K cadres were not involved in the clash.
Inspite of the K cadres well informed on IM cadres� movement in the vicinity of Ireng village the K gunmen obliged villagers� appeal not to confront the adversary force as interest and safety of the villagers are regarded top priority, contended Felix who also endorsed that with K cadres leaving the village after blank firing the empty cases displayed by the IM group may be only authenticate claim.
Refuting IM allegation of K cadres harassing Ireng villagers, he demanded that responsible village elders elaborate on when and where atrocities, if any, were committed within three days.
Following shift in allegiance by two IM cadres, the NSCN (K) has acquired detailed information types and quantity of weapons possessed by IM�s Nganping battalion, said Felix.
He also recalled of K cadres restraining themselves despite being in an advantageous position to attack IM gunmen at Aziuram and Tousem range last December as civilian casualty could not be ruled if a gun-fight had ensued on the occasion.
