Imphal, December 24: Guitar Celebration, a western classical guitar recital, was performed at the hall of JN Manipur Dance Academy here yesterday.

Organise by Attitude-X, the show was the solo debut performance of Aribam Uttam, who has received the degree of Bachelor of Music in western classical guitar.

Four other young musicians working under the tutelage of Uttam and have given group performance at Distinction Academy of Newcastle University of Australia also participated in the recital.

Giving the key note address of the show, programme co-ordinator of Attitude-X Tej Thokchom said the event was organised to provide a platform to the young talented musicians.

Along with taking the show to other cities of India like Bangalore and cities of the North Eastern States, efforts are also being made for setting up a western classical guitar study centre at Imphal as well as a Music school.

Plans are also afoot for organising X-Jump with rock show, X-team games and Hip Rocks over the course of the year, Tej said, adding that inspite of a large population of music lovers in the State, talented musicians cannot showcase their music talents on account of the existing capitalist set up of the society.
