Imphal, September 23: Based on specific information troops of 4 Assam Rifles launched a search operation in the general area of Kongpal and arrested one KCP cadre yesterday, said the PRO of AR in a statement.

The arrested who has been handed over to Porompat PS is identified as Piyo (42) of Kongpal.

In another incident, troops of 21 AR established a mobile check post at Waikhong area on September 22 and during the search of a vehicle arrested one UNLF cadre identified as Pte Ningthoujam Achouba Singh (28) of Nungnu Turel Wangma Chandanpokpi.

He has been handed over to Kakching PS, said the PRO.

One PREPAK cadre was also arrested by 10 AR during a search operation in the general area of Aishi today.

The arrested cadre is identified as Roshan Singh alias Mangi of Ningthoukhong, Bishnupur district, the PRO said.
