Imphal, September 19: Asserting that people should not have any misgiving to launch any kind of movement for a justified cause, the United People's Front (UPF) Manipur remarked that the Sangaiyumpham incident of September was not surprising at all.

A press release issued by the UPF maintained all the security personnel ought to be taught such befitting lessons who are allegedly habituated to turning their weapons to innocent civilians, unable to face armed militants.

In fact, the AR personnel need to be reprimanded more sternly for their alleged illegal activities perpetrated under cover of darkness.

Stating that all the people should be prepared for such acts of high-handedness, the UPF called upon the Meira Paibis to be always alert and cautious.

The Sangaiyumpham will certainly serve as an eye opener for the arrogant AR officers and their trigger-happy jawans who have been allegedly trained to torture innocent civilians and to act as tactful agents of involuntary disappearances, noted the UPF.

It is a fact that guns and bullets cannot be subdue the people and their rights to freedom for long.

The Sangaiyumpham fiasco is a glaring evidence to this fact, alleged UPF while maintaining that the people should always remember their own history.
